While on the hunt for a new preschool for her daughter, Jennifer knew the Y was the perfect fit.
“After touring the Betty Sterner Y Preschool in Catonsville, I remember telling my mother-in-law that I would do whatever it takes to get in!”
Since then, her family has gone on to have “nothing but amazing experiences” and her kids participate in several Y sport programs at the Y in Catonsville.
As well as all this, Jennifer has made a substantial extra contribution to her community through her tireless work leading the volunteer Y Preschool committee.
“I have dreamt of the moment where I would be involved in the kids’ schooling and activities, so being a part of this volunteer committee feels like it was made for me!”
Four years later and with the support of Regional Director Robert Smith (“Mr. Bob”), the committee puts on between four to six family fun nights over the school year. Needless to say, the kids love them!
Jennifer loves the Y so much that when moving houses she told their realtor to ensure their new neighborhood had a Y!
“The next step is enrolling the kids in Y Before and After School Enrichment… so it looks like the Y is stuck with us for another six years!”
