Did you say tacos? This summer, Y on the Fly served their special Pinto Bean Tacos to families. Families learned how to create these special tacos using the recipe cards provided by students.
McCormick’s Seasonings used this week: oregano, garlic salt, basil (Pizza Hummus), cumin and paprika (Pinto Bean Tacos) cinnamon and ginger (Fruit Salsa)
For their great recipes, students received PNC Calculators, Y pins and water bottles as incentives.
Other activities included Hungry Fox, Dash and Dine, Hula Hoop Challenge, Tic Tac Toe, Up Down/Stop Go, Tag and stretch sessions.
Y on the Fly visited the following programs: ConneXions Community Based Art, School: P.O.P (Play on Purpose) Freedom Schools, The Judy Center: Head Start Camp, The Weinberg Y in Waverly: National Night Out, Edmondson Westside High School: BELL Summer Learning Institute, Belmont Elementary: One More One Less Mentoring
