Monday Mission Update

Social responsibility, community engagement and defining health beyond fitness to total well-being are among the key pillars of our strategic plan, Impact 2020, and I must say that has been clearly evident with our annual Send a Kid to Camp campaign of late! With "Cycle a Kid to Camp," "Pickleball Tourney,"  "SKC Dance Party," "Associate Cycle Challenge," "Dunk Tank," "Aqua Zumbathon," "Paint to Send a Kid to Camp" and, as they say, a whole lot more (!), our associates, volunteers, members and community supporters have been hard at work and play to help assure that as many children as possible, regardless of their circumstances, have a safe and fun summer experience at the Y. These activities alone have raised over $20,000 for the cause!

Send a Kid to Camp Fundraising

Thank you to the many Y volunteers and associates who have so enthusiastically worked to organize these events and thank you to the many hundreds of community members who have come out in support. Your energy and spirit are an inspiration and define the essence of charitable giving. We are deeply grateful!

And the fun continues! As part of a national Y partnership, over the weekend the Y in Central Maryland teamed up with Macy’s stores across the region to help support Send a Kid to Camp. In order to help raise funds, customers were invited to donate $3 to the Y in exchange for a 25% off 'fashion pass' coupon. Thank you to all the Macy’s associates and customers who participated in this fantastic opportunity. Pictured below are the awesome associates from Macy’s Security Square location decked out in their ‘camp sunnies,’ ready for a big day of fundraising!

Many thanks to all for so actively demonstrating that we are a part of an amazingly caring and charitable community of people who know we are all strengthened when everyone is happy, healthy and enabled to reach their fullest potential in spirit, mind and body!

All the best,

John
